Kanye West has announced his new album will feature an 'antisemitic sound' following his hate-fuelled rants and comments about Jewish people on social media.
The rapper's erratic and controversial behaviour has grown increasingly antisemitic over the past few years and came to a head last month when he began selling t-shirts printed with swastikas.
In a rant on X he claimed to be a Nazi before he backtracked on that claim once his account had been reinstated.
The 47-year-old has now reportedly said in a since deleted post that his upcoming music will feature his ‘new sound called antisemitic’.
It’s unclear what exactly he means by this ‘new sound’ but it’s thought to be connected to his upcoming album, Bully.
His X account now only has one tweet, which reads: "THE HARDEST THING TO BE IS SOMETHING YOU’RE NOT."
The new album is slated to drop later in the year, having initially been teased by the Power rapper in early 2025.
This will be Ye’s first solo album since 2021’s Donda but he did release two collaborative records with Ty Dolla Sign last year.
He was dropped by label Def Jam in 2022 after antisemitic comments and has been releasing music independently ever since.
Speaking about the antisemitic sound, he added: "People used to tell me black rich vocal pick two or they’ll kill you kiiiids sing kiiiids sing jokes on you I’m still alive."
This was a reference to his We Don’t Care track from his 2004 debut album, The College Dropout.
The rapper attracted heavy criticism after advertising the offensive t-shirts during the SuperBowl.
His website was taken offline after he deleted everything on it with the exception of the t-shirt, available for purchase for $20 (£16.15).
A representative for Shopify, which processes the website’s orders, said that Kanye’s shop violated the company’s terms and conditions.
With no label representatives to push back on his plans, Ye has full creative control over Bully and any new music.
