Justin Timberlake tackles Trump and Harvey Weinstein in the video for ‘Supplies’

Pharrell joins Justin for the second single from 'Man of the Woods'

After the, well, lukewarm reaction to his comeback single ‘Filthy’, Justin Timberlake has dropped the second track from upcoming album Man of the Woods.

And while the Pharrell-featuring ‘Supplies’ is definitely more of a banger than ‘Filthy’, it’s the video that’s raising eyebrows the most. The Blade Runner 2049-inspired jaunt around a dystopian LA starts with Justin scanning a wall of televisions flashing with images of the #MeToo movement, police brutality and general American disarray. And later on, a girl is see wearing a shirt emblazoned with “Pussy Grab Back” – surely a direct reference to the infamous audio recording of Donald Trump.

It ends with Justin in the desert, while a small child screams “Die already. You’re still asleep! Wake up! Just leave. Please. For good,” directly into the camera. Is that a message to Trump, or more generally to the old dinosaurs in our society standing in the way of progress? Or maybe he just really enjoyed Blade Runner 2049.

The album Man of the Woods is out February 2, and he’s also released this behind the scenes promo.
