When we talk about artists who perhaps haven’t gotten the shine they deserve or were maybe born into the wrong era and could have blown the fucking doors off of the previous generation with their brand of artistic genius and been appreciated for it, JMSN is one of said artists.

He’s the very definition of pure and honest talent. Facts!

Whether you know him from his solo work (under any of his monikers), his work on Kendrick Lamar’s good kid m.A.A.d. city album, his shelved but much talked about collaboration album with Ab-Soul, or you’ve seen his name pop up a few times on a few other records, you know he’s the fucking man.

As a producer he uses living breathing instruments to lay gloriously soulful foundations which feel so airy and out of this world that sometimes you have to pinch yourself to see if it’s real because it often feels too good to be true. These foundations then provide a bed for JMSN’s heartfelt and painfully real songwriting to jump out of while his vocals seize the day like someone living their best life.

Aside from his top notch recent offerings – “So Badly” and “Talk Is Cheap” – JMSN’s self-titled 2014 album (also known as The Blue Album) is an undeniable classic of epic proportions. Want to feel music instead of listening to it? The Blue Album is what you need in your life.
