Doja Cat’s latest outfit has triggered some people’s phobias.

The American rapper was in attendance at Paris Fashion Week where she was spotted wearing an all-red ensemble, covered in 30,000 Swarovski crystals all applied by hand.

Showcasing her outfit to her Instagram on Monday, fashion designer Schiaparelli captioned the slow-mo video video, titled: ‘Doja Cat Couture’.

The outfit was part of the Haute Couture SS23 show held at Petit Palais in Paris as part of the world-renowned Paris Fashion Week, which began last week.

Along with the carefully crafted parts of the costume, Schiaparelli outlines Doja’s ‘red silk faille bustier’ and ‘hand-knit skirt of lacquered wooden beads’.

To complete the look, she was wearing – what are known as – ‘trompe l’œil toe boots’.

While the outfit proved to be a bold choice, others were left concerned as many people admitted that the costume had ‘triggered’ their trypophobia.

Trypophobia is the fear of tiny clusters of holes. Healthline says that: “People who have this phobia typically feel queasy, disgusted, and distressed when looking at surfaces that have small holes gathered close together or clustered into a pattern.

“Trypophobia is mainly visual. If you have this phobia, you might feel anxiety, disgust, and discomfort when looking at things like: sponges, strawberries and honeycombs.”

“My trypophobia didn’t allow me to even look at Doja Cat,” one user wrote.

Another tweeted: “I don’t like that red trypophobia triggering doja cat’s look i wish i’ve never seen it.”

A third said: “Please as someone with trypophobia I am begging you to stop posting pictures of Doja Cat at Paris Fashion Week.”
