There's just something about Dave Grohl as a drummer
Dave Grohl doesn't often cover Nirvana songs, regardless of the endless shouts for 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' he probably gets at every single gig he has ever played.
Kurt Cobain tragically passed away in 1994, and ever since, the songs that helped define a generation have rarely been performed live by his other bandmates Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic.
Fortunately for audiences at Los Angeles' Voodoo Threauxdown Festival, he rolled back the years, taking his rightful place behind the bass drum and obliterating his way through the Nevermind classic 'In Bloom', Cobain's rally against mainstream audiences adopting Nirvana's music.
He was joined by Trombone Shorty, the trombone and trumpet extraordinaire from New Orleans, who took over Cobain's vocal melody for the performance, instead of adding a singer for the cover. Let's face it, nobody would have been able to do it justice anyway.
