If the latest invention in shopping takes off, we could be one step closer to technology ruling our entire lives.

A new store in Sweden lets people do their shopping without the need for cashiers or floor staff - and it's open 24 hours a day. Shoppers can enter the store, in the town of Viken in the south of the country, using a mobile app. Once inside, they can pick up and scan all the goods they need before being charged via invoice each month. Shelves are kept stocked and CCTV cameras are in place to deter shoplifters, owner Robert Ilijason told Mashable. The store has staples like bread, milk and sugar, as well as toiletries and nappies for parents who need to make a late-night run to the shop for their young children. Viken has a population of barely 4,200, but if it's successful there then it ought to be workable in larger towns and cities.
