With the ever-expanding growth of dating apps like Tinder and Bumble, more and more people are beginning relationships via these apps.. And, apparently, there's a very simple way to boost your matching figures. The online dating service Zoosk recently analysed 3.7 million dating profiles and found that talking about food in your bio drastically increases your chances of getting a match. While millennials may be told to stop buying avocados on toast if they want to be able to buy a house in the future, it seems that mentioning the very lovely guacamole in your bio increases your chances of getting a match by 144%, according to Zoosk. While mentioning potatoes or chocolate in your bio will lead to 104% and 100% more matches. But, while referencing food in your bio gets the two thumbs up from Zoosk, you're going to need to have more in your bag of tricks if you're going to spark a conversation, although there are some noted exceptions to this rule. "Though mentioning food in your profile can lead to more incoming messages," the dating site wrote in a post. "It probably shouldn’t be the first thing you talk about with someone. For the most part, mentioning food in an initial message doesn’t result in many more replies. "But there are some exceptions, the most surprising of which is 'eggplant,' which gets 10% more responses than the average."
