John Lewis... What will they think of next?

There is much more to the department store chain than melancholic covers of pop songs put to heartbreaking video clips designed to make you feel grateful for what you have each festive season. They also sell some pretty cool stuff and have outdone themselves this year because, as you've gathered from the headline, they're launching a gin advent calendar! Each day from the start of December until Christmas morning, you'll be able to enjoy a 5cl bottle of Edinburgh gin; with varying flavours such as original Edinburgh gin, navy-strength Cannonball Gin and briny Seaside Gin. We're going to be honest with you here and admit that the calendar will set you back a few shillings because it's set to retail at £100 but, given the price of the individual miniature bottles combined (£112), it's actually not the worst value. Now we're ones to enjoy Christmastime so who are we to suggest that you replace your traditional chocolate advent calendars with the boozier version? Why not get both? Gin goes with chocolate, right? Last week we brought you news of a Prosecco advent calendar, which can be purchased at Pip Stop for £125.00. https://twitter.com/JOE_co_uk/status/911389905103802378 It seems alcohol companies have had quite enough of sweets dominating both Easter and Christmas but, as always, we would advise you to drink responsibly.
