A study undertaken by the International Journal of Travel and Tourism Research has yielded surprising results: that you're likely to have a better experience on your travels if you go by yourself. The survey involved 24 travellers who had recently flown solo on their travels on trips that lasted an average of nine days. The reasons that people prefer travelling alone are exactly what you would expect.
