Photos of a man passed out drunk in his taxi spread like wildfire on Facebook

After a night on the beer, Johnny Helm of Bacup, Lancashire, hailed a taxi home and immediately conked out in the back seat.

The taxi driver tried to revive him but Johnny must have been drinking Dreamy Sleepy Nighty Snoozy Snooze - because there was absolutely no waking him. The driver contacted his boss and the best plan they could come up with was to post photos of Johnny on their Facebook and hope someone recognised him. Johnny eventually woke up but because of his tired and emotional state, he ended up running from the taxi and jumping on a bus home. Speaking to a local newspaper, Johnny explained, "I don’t go out that much any more because I’ve got an 11-month-old son. "I knew it was my last night out before Christmas and I’d been on it since about 1.30pm before the Burnley game. I can’t remember getting or being in the taxi. There’s no chance of waking me either; I’m a really heavy sleeper. "When I woke up, I just panicked and ran. I got the bus back home and woke up to hundreds of messages about the taxi firm’s post. I suppose it’s quite funny but I do feel a bit bad. I’ll be in touch with the taxi people to apologise." Johnny ended up owing £20 to the taxi company and he'll never live down the incident.
