If you look very closely you can see his Aussie girlfriend in the passenger seat who must be wondering what in the f**k is going with Irish roads...
Alan told JOE that the incident happened out of the blue:
"Some laugh, the road just collapsed under me," laughed Alan.
"I called Stephen and he called down with a rope and my other mate Leon pulled me out. I'm amazed that I got away without doing any damage, thank God!"
Seeing as Alan also told us it's a rental car, you can understand the relief. We're not sure giant potholes are covered on the policy but if there's any trouble, show them this Alan...
