PICS: Giant pothole in Ireland attempts to swallow Renault whole

Go for a nice Christmas drive they said, be great they said.

JOE user Stephen Cashman got in touch to share pictures of his mate Alan Ahern who is home from Australia for Christmas and has gotten himself into a spot of bother in County Cork, Ireland. If you look very closely you can see his Aussie girlfriend in the passenger seat who must be wondering what in the f**k is going with Irish roads... Alan told JOE that the incident happened out of the blue: "Some laugh, the road just collapsed under me," laughed Alan. "I called Stephen and he called down with a rope and my other mate Leon pulled me out. I'm amazed that I got away without doing any damage, thank God!" Seeing as Alan also told us it's a rental car, you can understand the relief. We're not sure giant potholes are covered on the policy but if there's any trouble, show them this Alan...
