Sadly, the spider got the last laugh in this circumstance because the burning beast of hell may have spread the fire across the apartment itself.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported thanks to diligent residents that extinguished the fire. This being said, the block had to be evacuated and about $11,000 (£8,000) in damages were incurred.
Speaking with the BBC, local fire department chief, Gerry Gray, confirmed that a fire had taken place in an apartment block, but that the cause of the fire was still "undetermined".
A local civilian revealed that the sinister "huge wolf spider" was the reason behind the fire and that it's now "certainly part of our investigation," said Mr. Gray.
Witnesses say that the spider managed to spread the fire when it scurried onto a nearby mattress.
The fire department told the local paper that the fire appeared to have been started by a torch lighter.
There's no official confirmation yet if the spider is alive or dead.
