Emirates’ new first-class cabins are like private hotel rooms in the sky

If you can ever afford it, you’re in for a treat.

Flying business class, let alone first class, is a luxury that only a small percentage of air travellers can afford, but a glance at the brand new cabins in Emirates’ Boeing 777 fleet would nearly be enough to convince you to splash out, even just once. With design features inspired by the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the first class cabin includes a fully flat bed that can be placed in a zero gravity position, inspired by NASA technology, no less. Rather than ordinary windows, meanwhile, Emirates is introducing the industry’s first virtual windows, which project the view from outside the aircraft using real-time camera technology. Amongst the other features included are 2,500 channels of on-demand entertainment on a 32-inch Full HD LCD TV screen, a personal mini-bar for drinks and snacks and on-demand service with a selection of the finest cuisine prepared by gourmet chefs and some of the most exclusive wines, champagnes, and spirits in the world. The business class cabins, with personal mini bar, privacy panels and seats with a 72-inch pitch that can move into a fully flat sleeping position, aren’t half bad either… Commenting on the cabin upgrades, Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline said: “The in-flight experience is the heart of our brand and service proposition. The new 777 interiors that we are unveiling today is part of Emirates’ ongoing investment to continually raise the bar and exceed our customers’ expectations. “Aside from our new fully enclosed private suites, Business Class features our latest fully-flat leather seats with personal minibars, Economy Class seats have adjustable full leather headrests, and the in-flight entertainment system has been upgraded for all cabin classes. “Throughout the aircraft, our customers will see modern and airy cabins, with painstaking attention to detail evident in design touches such as the textured wall and ceiling panels, lighting features, and more.” You can check out the cabins in more detail here.
