Recent television quiz show history has shown that some folk love to let themselves believe that The Chase could be fixed. Only recently, one of its chasers - The Beast - was forced to defend such claims.
But what happened on Monday night's show might just kick off another round of 'fixed' claims.
This time, it was Shaun Wallace - better known as The Dark Destroyer - on chasing duty.
As regular viewers will know, each chaser is supposed to wait for host Bradley Walsh to finish his question before they are allowed to answer it. But, during a head-to-head with a contestant named Danny, Shaun prematurely hit his button, prompting Bradley to warn him.
"I could disqualify you," he said. "You pressed before I've asked the question. You know the rules."
Despite breaking the rules, Shaun was let off by Bradley and went on to beat Danny, who had taken a lower offer to give himself more of a chance of making the final chase.
Facing a team of two in the final round, Shaun was beaten in the final round with the winning pair bagging £12,000 between them.
