A feature of the new iOS 9.3 update - which has just been released to developers in beta form - won't be able to force you to put your phone down at night, but will help as far as the glare from the screen is concerned.
The new 'Night Shift' feature will, according to Apple, use your device's clock and geolocation to determine when it's sunset in your location.
Then, it automatically shifts the colours in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum, making it easier on your eyes. In the morning, it returns the display to its regular settings.
In developing Night Shift, Apple cited research showing that exposure to bright blue light in the evening can affect your circadian rhythms and make it harder to fall asleep.
It is one of a number of features on the iOS 9.3 update, more information on which is provided here.Lifestyle
