This little-known Amazon hack gives you 20% off

There's a secret hack to get even bigger discounts on Amazon devices in their spring sale.

The online retailer launched its huge week-long sale today (25 March) with deals across thousands of products on the website.

This includes popular Amazon devices like the Kindle, Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, Fire HD and Echo Show.

There's up to 60% off their own products, but there's a little-known way to get another 20% off selected Amazon devices.

This is through their "trade-in" scheme, which lets customers trade their old devices to get 20% off their new purchase - as well as an Amazon gift card on top of that.

For example in the Amazon spring sale you can get the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max for £44.99.

This is 36% off the original price of the latest gen streaming stick, but if you trade-in your older model you can get an extra 20% off the sale price.

Plus you can also get discounts on the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and HD versions for £34.99 and £24.99 in the sale, which are also available for the trade-in offer.

There's also the latest Kindle, with 16GB storage and marking their most light and compact for £79.99.

It's been discounted by 16%, but if you've got an older model you'll be able to get an extra 20% off for the trade-in.

Other products featured in the Amazon spring sale include the Echo Dot for 45% off at £59.99, Echo Pop for 49% off at £22.99 and Fire HD 8 tablet for 45% off at £54.99.

How does Amazon trade-in work?

If you've got an Amazon device e.g. Kindle, Echo Dot or Fire TV Stick that's registered to your account then you'll be eligible for the trade-in deal.

To find out if your device is registered and eligible just log in to your Amazon account and select the "Save 20% with trade-in" button on the product page.

You can then choose which device you want to trade and you'll receive an Amazon gift card equal to its appraised value plus 20% off a new, qualifying device.

So, this means you can purchase one of the newer models of your current device with a 20% discount on top of the spring sale discount on Amazon.
