The two days holiday will be given over the Christmas period
Sainsbury's have confirmed that it will be closing all of its stores across the UK and giving all staff two days off during the holiday season.
As reported in multiple outlets, the announcement comes as the supermarket looks to show appreciation for all of our key workers' tremendous efforts throughout the pandemic.
It is believed that following the usual holiday on Christmas Day, locations around Britain will remain shut on Boxing Day as well. Many supermarkets stay open on Boxing Day every year, albeit on reduced opening hours, but 2021 will see Sainsbury's close the doors of all of its supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations, giving its employees some extra festive family time.
Sainos are not the only supermarket to be giving workers this extra holiday; last month Morrisons also announced they would be giving workers a bonus day off too. We're sure the two companies won't be the last.
