First Class passengers delay train journey after “fighting and throwing coffee”

Money can't buy class, clearly.

You think you’ve seen all manner of chaos on the morning commute, and then something like this happens.

Two grown men, who have been described as “f*cking clowns” by nearby witnesses, were caught throwing fists and hot beverages at each other on the 6.29am Southern service from Littlehampton in Sussex to London Bridge on Monday.

The fight is reported to have taken place in a first class carriage. Nobody was seriously hurt.

It has been reported that the fight erupted over a crowded First Class carriage seat.

Officers attended the scene and spoke to the two men about the alleged incident. Thankfully, or perhaps unfortunately, no arrests were made. Southern Rail has confirmed that as a result the service was forcibly terminated at Gatwick.

In total, the train was held for 30 minutes. A spokesman for Southern said:

“We were called to Hove station at 7.19am on Monday, May 23 to reports of an assault on board a train. Officers attended and spoke to two men about the alleged incident.”

One passenger said: “This is why they need to de-classify First”, while another onlooker referred to the carnage as a “First Class punch-up.”

Meanwhile, a tweet from the parody account @BadSouthernRail said: “We are looking into making all passengers fight other passengers to win a seat, if nothing else, for our entertainment.”

Of course, this is the real scandal:
