Nine-year-old continually nails The New Yorker’s caption contest with incredible wit

This is some next level humour and we are not worthy

Professional comedy writers are SHOOK.

TV writer Bess Kalb has shared her cousin’s genius nine-year-old daughter’s New Yorker captions and they are nothing short of exceptional.

Comedians and comedy writers across the world are said to be shook as they come to terms with the fact that nothing they have written or ever will write is going to be as funny as this.

Alice is nine, so probably too young to have a Twitter account of her own just yet. But mark my words, when she sets up an account, we’re in for a treat.

Check out this genius child’s exceptional work below.

*Disclaimer: You’re going to feel inadequate about your own subpar sense of humour after laughing at these, but that’s fine. Embrace it. Strive to be better.
