Kourtney Kardashian declares Fourth of July ‘canceled due to a shortage of independence’

‘Sincerely, women’

Kourtney Kardashian posted a meme on her Instagram story on Monday in which she claimed the Fourth of July had been “cancelled due to shortage of independence.”

The date is Independence Day in the US, and marks the anniversary of the country gaining independence from the British Empire.

The day is a national holiday and involves nation-wide celebrations.

But in a post on her Instagram story on Monday, Kourtney shared a meme which read: “4th of July has been cancelled due to a shortage of independence. Sincerely, Women.”

The post is almost certainly alluding to the recent decision from the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade and ruled that access to abortion was not a constitutional right.

At least 25 states are poised to introduce new laws, or reactivate dormant ones, making it illegal to access abortion in many cases, including, in some instances, where conception has resulted from rape or incest.

The 46-year-old shared the meme on her Instagram story (@kourtneykardash/Instagram)

Her post came less than day after her husband Travis Barker announced that he was “feeling much better” after being hospitalised following a colonoscopy.

On June 28, Barker was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles because of what has now been revealed as pancreatitis. According to sources who spoke to TMZ, his pancreas became inflamed due to a recent colonoscopy procedure.

Barker has since left the hospital and offered a statement on his Instagram story that read: “I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great.

“But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since

“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.

“This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis. I am so very very grateful hat with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”
