Poems? Am I right.
Ugh, poems are just the best. I love poems. Who does not love a good poem? Nobody, because they are such fun.
If I had to choose between being shot at point blank range or never being allowed to read a poem again, I would sit down and take that bullet like a champ.
For some people, poems are difficult to digest. There's a lot of colourful language and metaphors involved that at times can take quite a bit of decoding before you can even begin to understand their message.
As a Poem Expert™, I've gone through some of the world's most famous poems and simplified them for ease of consumption.

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.

I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud by William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line

The Lake Isle Of Innisfree by W.B. Yeats
I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,

After The Titanic by Derek Mahon
They said I got away in a boat

Caged Bird by Maya Angelou
A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.
But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.
The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn

Mid-Term Break by Seamus Heaney
