Conspiracist claims the world will end later this year

James Dawson

As you can probably imagine, it makes absolutely no sense.

Is it me or does some crackpot on the internet always seem to be making some bizarre prediction or another?

Earlier this week we heard how a man claiming to come from ‘the year 6000’ had described humanity’s downfall at the hands of AI. And now this.

Conspiracy theorist Mathieu Jean-Marc Joseph Rodrigue has been ploughing through the bible and claims a passage indicates that the Armageddon is coming on 24 June this year.

In a passage from the Book of Revelations, Mathieu believes the line ‘he was given authority to act for 42 months’ has a special significance – and by ‘special’, I actually mean a really grim significance.

According to the Daily Star, Mathieu describes: “I heard a voice in the middle of the four living beings. This is wisdom. He who has intelligence can interpret the figure of the beast.

“It represents the name of a man. His figure is 666.”

To find the date of the Apocalypse, he claims to have taken the figure 666 and combine it with some ‘calculations’. Personally I feel as though it’s more likely he just plucked it out of thin air.

If all of this has got your worried then you can at least rest more easy knowing that he previously predicted humanity’s downfall would happen in 2017. Yet here we are.
