Teen may be left paralysed after diving into Magaluf pool

He was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning

A 19-year-old British tourist will “probably” be left paralysed after jumping headfirst into a pool in Magaluf.

The unnamed teen is thought to have jumped into a part of the pool at the Oceans Beach Club that was just a foot and a half deep.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including an ambulance, police and the Civil Guard, and treated the man for a spinal injury and head wound.

After being stabilised at the scene, the Brit was rushed to hospital at around 1.30am on Tuesday morning.

The Sun reports that he was taken to Son Espases Hospital in the island capital Palma, where his condition was described as “serious.”

Unconfirmed local reports say that the 19-year-old will “probably” be left paralysed.

He is thought to have arrived in Majorca just hours earlier with friends, with the incident occurring on his first night out in Magaluf.

Civil Guard officers are probing the incident.

Later the same day, a Dutch tourist died after falling off a cliff in Mallorca in front of his partner and two children in a stunt that went wrong.

He was later named as a former footballer called Mourad Lambrabatte.
