Regardless, today is the day of the Winter Solstice. It’s the shortest day of the year (in terms of sunlight, there’s still 24 long hours in this puppy), as the sun shines from its most southern point.
Winter officially begun this morning as the sun rose at 8:04am and will set later today at 3.54pm.
Lots of people flocked to Stonehenge this morning to watch the most epic sun rise of the year.
