The Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay trailer is blowing people away

It looks like Rockstar have done it again

It looks incredible

Rockstar has released a few cinematic trailers to tease their upcoming release of the hotly anticipated Red Dead Redemption II, but on August 8 they dropped their first trailer made up of exclusively in-game action.

The result is a massively exciting trailer showing fans exactly what they can expect from the upcoming open-world Western.

Which is shooting stuff, mostly, but also wandering around a gorgeously rendered American Old West. And then more shooting.

Promising emotional depth, greater story elements and improved gameplay, the video shows a few choice cutscenes, which are all fairly entertaining, as well an impressive array of cinematic wide-shots of the stunningly realistic landscape, free for players to explore at will.

Then the shoot-outs begin.

The sequel to 2010’s seminal Red Dead Redemption, which took the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 by storm when it was released, has been eagerly awaited by fans of the series for some time now. It won ‘Game of the Year’ accolades from a number of publishers and sold over 15 million copies so it’s not hard to understand why even if you didn’t get to play it.

Red Dead Redemption II will be the third instalment in the franchise following the original Red Dead Revolver, a release on the PS2 and Xbox in 2004.

It will follow the story of the outlaw Arthur Morgan, who features extensively in the trailer as a cold-hearted bandit and is a member of the Dutch Van Der Linde gang.

Much to the disappointment of gamers, the original release date was pushed back and it is now due for release in the UK on October 26, which, fortunately, doesn’t seem too far away now.
