Carragher is pissing himself

Graeme Souness has somehow one-upped himself.

During Sky Sports’ Super Sunday coverage of Manchester United playing Liverpool out to a 0-0 draw, Souness paused mid-sentence to question one of his fellow pundits: “Why you looking like that?”

It looked like Souness has some kind of weird aversion to Dave Jones, because Sky’s anchor appeared to do very little more than look at the former Liverpool captain while he was speaking.

In a slightly longer clip, Jamie Carragher can be seen trying to contain his laughter. Once Souness was finished embarrassing himself, the task of somehow recovering Sky’s broadcast fell to Gary Neville, who looked to swiftly move the conversation on.

Souness said: “I thought they dominated the ball up until the 18 yard box of Man United, and… Why are you looking like that? Do you not agree with me?

“I was just wondering if they agreed with you,” Jones said after a slight pause.

“Well, it was the way you looked.”

Classic, just great broadcasting. It really is. Put this on a loop and play it to me, like that brainwashing scene in A Clockwork Orange.

Souness was on good form for the day, having already found time to criticise Paul Pogba.

He wrote in his column for The Sunday Times ahead of United’s game with Liverpool, urging football fans not to get carried away with Pogba’s impressive form.

The Sky Sports pundit claimed that the Frenchman’s display against Paris Saint-Germain – when he was sent-off as United lost 2-0 – should dampen any excitement about Pogba’s impressive form.

“The stats show that United are running more than they were previously, putting in the hard yards for the new manager in terms of closing down and sprinting back, all the stuff that they weren’t doing for Mourinho. I was critical of Paul Pogba, in particular, but was I wrong?

“Look at the difference in him between then and now, and let’s not get carried away either: he never got a kick against PSG, then showed his frustration by lunging at Dani Alves and being sent off.”

Nice one, Graeme.
