In September of this year, Lancashire man Mark was visiting Dublin.

During his trip, he collapsed outside a restaurant on Leeson Street. He was rushed to hospital after a passer-by phoned emergency services where it was discovered that he had suffered a brain injury due to the fall. Mark's partner, who was left alone in the restaurant, eventually traced his whereabouts. Mark, thankfully, is on the mend and is now back in Lancashire. Recently, he penned a letter to the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mícheál MacDonncha, to thank the emergency services crews and "the people of Dublin" who were so helpful during the days after his accident. https://twitter.com/LordMayorDublin/status/931182059372105728 Mark detailed his collapse and injury and then went on to thank those who had come to his aid. He also expressed his gratitude to the ambulance service, St James Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, and the Central Hotel on Talbot Street who let his partner stay for a night free of charge. Mark wrote:
“I cannot explain how grateful I am to the people of Dublin who have been the most friendly and thoughtful people I have ever met and you must be so proud to be mayor of such a wonderful city. “I would be the most grateful if you could pass on my application to the people of Dublin in any way you can."
