Tom Holland confirms he’s in Christopher Nolan’s rumoured new vampire movie

Matt Damon is also rumoured to co-star.

A couple of weeks ago, it was reportedly revealed that there are plans for Nolan's follow-up to smash hit and Oscar Best Picture winner Oppenheimer to be released on IMAX on 17 July, 2026 by Universal Pictures.

It had also been reported that Matt Damon was in talks to star in the film, having already had major supporting roles in two Nolan epics: Interstellar and Oppenheimer.

Then, earlier this week, Holland was also said to be starring in the flick - something he has since confirmed.

Appearing on Good Morning America, the young actor was asked about the project - to which he replied: "Listen, all I can say is that I'm incredibly excited and obviously honored, but that's all I can say because to be honest, that's really all I know.

"When the opportunity came in, it was the phone call of a lifetime - reminiscent of getting that call about Spider-Man 10 years ago. It's an amazing thing for me. I'm super proud and I'm really, really excited."

When asked if he would sign up for a project "sight unseen" for a chance to work with Nolan, Holland responded: "100% yeah, without a shadow of a doubt."

Currently details about the writer-director's new project - whose title is unknown as-of-yet - are being kept tightly under wraps, as is often the case with his films this early in the process.

However, The Hollywood Reporter claims sources have said that its setting is not in the present day.

They also added though that it is currently unclear whether it will take place in the past or the future.

News of Nolan's new film has sent the rumour mill into overdrive, with reports claiming it could be either an espionage flick, an action thriller inspired by '80s cult classic Blue Thunder or a 1920s-set vampire story.

Whatever it is, it has been widely claimed that the mysterious blockbuster is set to shoot in early 2025.

The historical epic thriller Oppenheimer was released in the summer of 2023 and grossed $977 million on a $100 million budget - something all the more impressive given its dark subject matter.

It also swept the Oscars, winning seven awards - including Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy.

Pre-Oppenheimer, the filmmaker also made epics like The Dark Knight Trilogy, Dunkirk, Inception, Interstellar and Tenet.

As such, all eyes will be on his latest project in the coming months for more announcements.
