‘Imagine your next opponent is Venom, Bane, and Tommy from Warrior’
Tom Hardy has proven that his tough guy image isn’t just limited to the screen, as he won a gold medal in a Jiu-Jitsu competition over the weekend.
In a brilliant example of nominative determinism, Hardy won every match by submission as he ‘dominated’ the competition at the the REORG Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship at Aldersley Leisure Village on Saturday (20 August).
The proceeds from the event went to the REORG Charity, which Hardy is an ambassador of.
The charity teaches those with life-altering injuries or those who are suffering from PTSD and depression the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
And all eyes were on the Dark Knight Rises star, not just because of his celebrity status, but also his remarkable skill at the combat sport.
In a video shared on TikTok by Jiu-Jitsu Geoff, Hardy can be seen taking down his opponents with ease.
The TikToker said that the actor ‘dominated’ the competition and won every match by submission, labelling him a “killer.”

In the clip, the guy filming can be heard prasing Hardy for his moves, with several other Jiu-Jitsu connoisseurs echoing this.
One person wrote: “Sheesh that side control escape into a takedown was sick. He’s legit.”
Another said: “When you consider he’s in his early 40’s that’s pretty damn good.”
Of course, for many, this only added to their love for the Peaky Blinders actor.
One user commented: “For a major celeb he just seems like a proper decent guy, I reckon if he was your neighbour he’d put your bin out n stuff.”
A second wrote: “Tom Hardy is Perfect. He’s like 10/10.”
And dozens of others couldn’t resist a few jokes in reference to Hardy’s many iconic role.
One joked: “Imagine your next opponent is Venom, Bane, and Tommy from Warrior”
Another said: “He thought darkness was his ally”
And a third quipped: “What do you expect from a guy trained by the league of assassins”

And just when you thought you couldn’t love the guy anymore, he then made a young fan’s day after the competition with an impromptu meet-and-greet.
Six-year-old Ollie and his mum Carla travelled to the event when they heard Hardy would be there.
Carla told the Express and Star: “I received a message that he was in our town competing in a Jiu-jitsu tournament, drove down, walked in, asked for him and was told he had just left.
“My son then burst into tears.
“The lovely lady from REORG decided to just check. The next thing I know this lovely man is walking across the sports hall to us.
“He instinctively scooped my son into a hug and proceeded to just make his year.
“He’s so kind and thoughtful. So surreal! My son has grown up hearing me talk about how talented and brilliant this man is.
“He loves Venom so this is something I know he will always remember.”
