Tom Hardy has helped these abandoned puppies find a new home

Paul Moore

Legend.

Aside from being remarkably gifted as an actor, Tom Hardy has frequently proven that he’s also a really sound bloke. In recent months, the star of Bronson and Dunkirk has launched fundraising campaigns for the victims of the Manchester bombing and the tragedy at Grenfell.

He also chased down a moped thief, caught him and shouted: “I caught the c**t!”

All things considered, he’s a bit of a legend but it’s clear that he has a soft spot for dogs. Nobody could forget the heartbreaking tribute that he paid to his dog Woody after he passed away and Hardy has also included his dog during that famous CBeebies appearance.

After discovering that four puppies were abandoned in a London park, the actor used his Instagram account to send out an appeal to find them new homes.

He wrote: “New Staffies found and brought to Battersea this am in a box found in park. Look at them. I want to house them all 8 weeks old. Go see them xxx.”

Speaking to the Cambridge Times, the intake manager at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home,  Steve Craddock, has said: “These puppies had a lucky escape. The whole experience must have been very frightening for them. It was a cold day and they could have easily got hypothermia, suffocated or died of dehydration. Fortunately, they were found in time and – after a drink, a sleep and some TLC – made a full recovery, and now they’re charging about enjoying life with playful puppy enthusiasm.”

Top, top man.
