This theory behind the monster on Stranger Things makes a lot of sense

But we hope it isn't true.

Say it ain’t so!

At this stage, I think it’s safe to say that nearly every Netflix owner has seen Stranger Things. It’s one of the best original series to hit the streaming platform with a great storyline, stellar cast and excellent nostalgic angle.

If you haven’t watched it already then, not to sound like one of *those* annoying people, but you really should watch it. While there aren’t any intentional spoilers in this article you might not want to read it if you want to watch the series from scratch.

There’s a new theory behind the monster in the series which makes a lot sense.

The theory is based on the idea that Eleven is, in fact, the monster.

According to Uproxx, the theory explains that the monster is an alter ego of Eleven which she brought to life through the dark space when she first met the monster. She somehow projected something from inside her into the form of a monster and it became real.

The theory also points out that Eleven even refers to herself as the monster in the series and in the final episode when she is destroying it they both have the exact same hand movement and when it disappears she does too.

The theory doesn’t stop there either. They are suggesting that there are other clues hidden in the show which proves it’s validity. The boys are talking about a monster in their game of Dungeons & Dragons which is called a Demogorgon and they then use this name for the real life monster that is terrorising their town.

The significance here is that a Demogorgon has two heads, one which is deceptive and one which is destructive and both symbolise Eleven and the monster.

One other connection to this theory surfaces when Mike gets a copy of an X-Men comic which has the character Jean Grey who has two personas, Phoenix and Dark Phoenix. Again a good persona battling with an evil one.

So, take what you want from this but it does seem very possible.
