There’s a petition to stop interviewing Will and Jada Smith so we can all be ‘free’

‘Not everything has to be public knowledge’

A petition has been launched in an attempt to stop Will and Jada Pinkett Smith from talking – about their relationship.

The couple has been airing their dirty laundry with reckless abandon for some weeks now, so much so that Buzzfeed headlined a story Tuesday: We Know Too Much About Will Smith Now.

The piece went on to catalogue all the things, well, probably not all… the couple has revealed, of late. That they have an open marriage. That at one point, Will wanted a “harem of girlfriends”. That he fell in love with a co-star. That he dealt with being cheated on by having so much sex he made himself gag, and vomit. Jada, on the other hand, said she wasn’t 100% satisfied with their sex life. Then, she said she was. You get the picture.

So, it isn’t surprising that there’s now a petition on change.org pushing for the pair to stop oversharing.

Dexter Morales, launched it along with the plea, ‘Stop interviewing Will and Jada smith!’, and on Wednesday morning it was approaching 2,500 signatures.

It has prompted a few comments in support.

“Everything I learn about this couple is against my will. Free us,” one person wrote. Another added:  “Not everything has to be public knowledge.”

“I’m sick and tired of hearing the BS that goes on in their personal lives. It’s exhausting. I’ve muted their names everywhere, AND STILL SEE THIS!! I’m sick of their weirdness. Make it STOP!!!’ said another.

Will has been chatting a lot lately because he has a docuseries coming out, The Best Shape Of My Life, and a memoir, Will, and a now movie out, King Richard, where he plays the legendary Richard Williams, father of Venus and Serena Williams.

Buzzfeed suggested also that his oversharing is an attempt to reinvent himself as an actor for the modern era. Warts and all.

Will did a rather in-depth interview with Oprah earlier this month.

The Men In Black star talked about his split from Jada, who went on to have a relationship with singer August Alsina and how he also engaged in sexual relationships outside of their marriage. Several Red Table Talks have also centred around their relationship, sex life and Jada’s close friendship with Tupac.
