The show that’s hailed as the new Love Island has landed a presenter

Paul Moore

Love Island fans will be watching this.

2017 has seen some brilliant TV shows with the likes of Game of Thrones, The Handmaid’s Tale, GLOW, Mindhunter, Legion, American Vandal, Big Little Lies, Rick and Morty, Peaky Blinders and Mr. Mercedes all keeping us gripped.

On the other side of this, there are mindless TV shows like I’m A Celeb, Big Brother, and Love Island. When it comes to your own TV habits, each to their own. We’re not judging!

Love it or hate it, but there’s no denying the fact that Love Island was a cultural institution during its recent season and if you’re still missing your regular fix of reality dating, you’ll be pleased to know that ITV has the next best thing.

Survival of the Fittest is ITV2’s brand new reality TV show that’s set in the South African savannah. In the show, a team of girls and boys (who are all single) will live in The Lodge while facing-off against each other in daily physical and mental challenges.

The official synopsis reads as follows: “A team of girls and a team of boys will battle it out in a series of stunning physical and mental challenges to determine which sex has the upper hand, while romantic dates will test their loyalties to the limit. Will the girls put sisters before misters and will the boys choose mates over dates? Or will the temptation be too much and they end up in bed with the enemy?”

Laura Whitmore is on presenting duties and throughout the season, we’re going to see mates and potential dates pitted against each other for a cash prize.

The show will air on ITV2 in 2018.
