The opening scene of Peaky Blinders Season 4 is released and it’s intense

Paul Moore

It’s back tonight!

For Peaky Blinders fans, the wait is nearly over. When we last met the Shelby gang, it’s fair to say that Tommy wasn’t the most popular person in the room as his secret pact with government resulted in his family members being imprisoned.

Then again, if there’s one thing that we know about Tommy Shelby it’s that he always has a plan!

Regarding Season 4, we’re told that the story will pick up two years after Tommy made the deal which saw his family incarcerated.

Unforgiven and estranged from the rest of the Shelbys, Tommy is alone and solely focussed on his business interests. As the shadow of industrial action looms large, and a malicious vendetta raging against the entire Shelby clan, the leader of the Peaky Blinders needs to reunite his family in order to survive.

When he receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, Tommy realises that the Shelbys are in danger of annihilation.

As the enemy closes in, Tommy flees his country house and returns to the only safe place he knows: Small Heath, Birmingham, the slum where he grew up.

Facing a more determined and sophisticated threat than ever before, the Shelby family must find a way to put differences aside, work together, take up arms and fight for survival.

This being said, after watching the opening scene, their chances don’t look great.

From the opening scene, it’s clear that Arthur, Michael, John and Aunt Polly are in a perilous situation.

BBC 2 and 21:00. Don’t miss it!
