Darth Vader James Earl Jones will be returning.
Of course, he famously provided the voice for Mufasa in the '94 original and he'll be playing that character again.
In what's a superb piece of casting, the extremely talented Donald Glover will be playing Simba while Chiwetel Ejiofor has been cast as the villainous Scar.
The addition of Beyonce is bound to grab the headlines, but there's an extremely solid cast attached to this film with Seth Rogen, John Oliver, Billy Eichner and Keegan-Michael Key all starring.
“It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” Favreau said in a press release.
The film will use the same techniques that the director used for his recent version of The Jungle Book and The Lion King is set for release on July 19th.
