The Kinks star Dave Davies has claimed he met an alien who gave him a sex ban and left his groin feeling numb.
The 75-year-old, who was lead guitarist in The Kinks and co-founder of the legendary band, said his mind was taken over by the extra-terrestrial and that he could hear voices in his head.
Davies detailed the bizarre encounter in his new memoir Living on a Thin Line.
He described the being’s communications as becoming “more demanding, more challenging”, and that they told him he “must not have sex.”
Davies claimed his “groin and pelvis suddenly became numbed, like they’d blocked any sensation down there.”
This was apparently so that the alien could “transmute” his sexual energy to a “higher vibrational level,” the Daily Star reports.
He explained: “I couldn’t understand why I was feeling so peculiar. I didn’t feel physically ill. This was different.
“Suddenly I had a feeling like a boa constrictor had wrapped itself around my forehead and was pressing hard. What the f***?”
It apparently happened when he was on tour in the US in 1982 as he was was preparing to play a gig in Virginia.
The ‘You Really Got Me’ singer wrote: “It was like my brain had flicked on a new psychic switch. After the initial jolt, I didn’t feel panicked or alarmed.
The voices – which he labelled “the intelligences” – had a “commanding presence, but were also non-threatening, calming even.”
Davies continued: “My senses were overwhelmed. Where were these voices coming from? Were they floating close by? Or an alien force from many thousand miles away? I began to feel their presence.
“I could already hear them. Then I felt them physically and my nostrils were filled with different smells – again nothing unpleasant or sinister.
“In fact, the smells – of fresh flowers like jasmine and magnolia – had a fragrance so full I felt like I could have scooped them up with a spoon.”
A member of a rock band hearing voices in their head whilst on tour in the 1980s? Who knows what could have caused that…
