Ready to have yet another part of our collective childhoods ruined? Ok, cool. So, apparently, the guy who played Barney the Dinosaur now owns a “tantric sex business”.

Now to spend the rest of this article resisting as many puns as possible.

As originally reported by Vice back in 2018, David Joyner (aka Barney himself) left his career as the big purple one (stop right there) on Barney & Friends back in 2001 to explore other avenues in his acting career.

However, cut to 2004 and he had opened up Tantra Harmony: a tantric massage and spiritual healing centre that offers everything from tantric massages and bathing ceremonies, to chakra healing – oh, all that and “cosmic, mind-blowing orgasms”.

Quoting the company’s own mission statement, they focus on: “Connecting your mind, body and spirit together as one, in perfect harmony. Achieving a higher, and more blissful state of awareness [of] your sexuality, and who you are as a spiritual being.”

You’re telling us that he went from being a software analyst to an iconic children’s TV character to a tantric masseuse and spiritual healer? Makes total sense – natural career progression, really.

Though it may not have been as big over in the UK as it was in the US and perhaps other parts of the world, Barney the Big Purple Dinosaur is a beloved and easily recognisable children’s character so it’s understandable that this revelation might rub some people the wrong way (pack it in).

However, perhaps one of the most incredible aspects of this total career change is how much he charges for some of this stuff. For the full bells and whistles ‘White Lotus Tantra Massage Session’ with Joyner, which lasts anywhere from three to four hours, he charges a whopping $350!

It might not be the TV money he was earning back in the day but it’s not bad if the customers are coming – right, last warning: head out of the gutter.

While we’re sure this has been a life-changing experience for some people – you only have to read some of the Goddess Testimonials (what he calls his clients) – if we go down the sensual massage route, reckon we’ll stick with a partner or something or at the very least, take a pass on the bloke who taught us about manners and friendship when were four years old.
