The perfect send off
Matthew Perry’s iconic final line as Chandler Bing in the hit US sitcom Friends has resurfaced following the tragic news of his death.
Perry died of an apparent drowning at his home on Saturday October 28.
He was 54 years old.
A call was received by police in Los Angeles, at 4.07pm local time (12.07am UK time).
The incident at the actor’s home in the Pacific Palisades in LA was treated as a ‘water rescue,’ Sky News reports.
There was no apparent foul play and no confirmed cause of death. An investigation is ongoing.
Tributes have poured in from around the globe. From those who worked with Perry to those who were fans of his work, thousands have shared their memories.
One of the memories includes Chandler’s final line from the last episode of Friends, which aired in 2004.
Titled “The Last One, Part 2”, the gang have time to get one last coffee together before they all head their separate ways.
Perry reportedly asked to have the final line and responded in perfect style.
Rachel says: “Okay, should we get some coffee?”
Chandler then responded: “Sure. Where?” which is a light-hearted tease on the fact the group would always get coffee together at Central Perk coffee house.
