Take Me Out star reveals producers attempt to stop ‘bad behaviour’

James Dawson

He had a lot to say after Saturday’s show.

A contestant who appeared on Take Me Out over the weekend has revealed exactly what goes on behind the scenes.

Roscoe Crawford – a hairdresser from Scotland – revealed there’s 24/7 supervision from a chaperone and contestants have regular room checks following their date to prevent ‘bad behaviour’.

The show’s producers are so strict on contestants that he wasn’t even allowed to choose the clothes he wore during his appearance.

He told Glasgow Live: “When you first get to the studio you are told to bring a suitcase of your clothes and the producers pick what they think you should wear.

“You’re then in the green room all day surrounded by runners and staff who are there to try buzz you up and keep you full of energy.

“They literally don’t let you relax. They encourage you to practice your talent and play loud music to make sure you are saying alert.

“When you have picked your date you’re not actually allowed to speak to them much because they are whisked away. You don’t know anything about them or even what age they are until you go to Fernandos.

“It’s actually a bit like a blind date but you know what  the person looks like.”

Male contestants are also chaperoned from the moment they pick a potential date, to avoid the two of them meeting before they are introduced in front of the cameras.

Roscoe added: “We were all given a babysitter who went everywhere with us.

“For the first two days the boys were together, we all flew out together and the girls were on a separate flight.

“They do this so we can’t speak to the girls and spoil any reactions or say anything bad because they want to catch everything on camera.”

The weekend’s show was a particularly good episode. As well as Roscoe’s appearance, viewers also picked up on a brutal moment on social media.

Although magician Phil bagged a date with Bella, it was then revealed that she had no intention of going out on a date with him – she simply forgot to turn her light off.

Absolutely parred.
