The creators have already dubbed this their ‘Game of Thrones season’
If you haven’t got all the way through Stranger Things 4 Part 1 then you probably shouldn’t be here.
Nevertheless, this article only hints at moments from the first seven episodes and simply speculates on what might happen in the two-part finale, so feel free to proceed at your own peril.
Stranger Things fans have had their world turned upside down after watching a recent behind the scenes video released by Netflix on Monday which appears to hint at something potentially significant happening to one character in particular: Lucas.
Played by 20-year-old Caleb McLaughlin, the character of Lucas Sinclair started off as somewhat distant from his D&D loving friends this season, but has still managed to find his way into the action and sci-fi shenanigans, However, one particular BTS clip around 2:45 seems to suggest his appearance will change in part two.

As you can see in the clip and the rather panicky, subtitled reaction below, it would seem that McLaughlin had “some good stuff” which required him to wear contacts in order to make his eyes look different. If you’ve been watching the season so far, we have a pretty good guess as to what that might be.
Though Netflix were somewhat kind enough to censor what the actor shows on his phone to his co-star Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), many online were quick to ask why the studio even included the potential spoiler in the video at all.
Right??? like there's no other reason why Lucas would be wearing contacts?? and the way Gaten reacted to how the contacts looked…. they're definitely the possessed contacts that Max, Nancy and the other Vecna victims had to use 😭

As many frantic fans went on to discuss on social media, the only plausible explanation based on what we know at the minute is that when Chrissy, Fred and Patrick were possessed by this season’s big, bad, Vecna, their eyes turned a frightening white colour as they lost consciousness and floated up into the air before facing a gruesome death. They really have ratcheted things up this year.
The same went for Max and Nancy when they were possessed by Vecna, although they remain very much alive (at the moment). Now we know the appearance of Lucas’ eyes will somehow change, it’s a fair guess that he might be lined up as one of Vecna’s next victims.
We really don’t know how this season’s going to end up but little snippets like this have already caused some viewers to freak out – some are already writing their own bits of fan fiction describing how they think Lucas is going to go:

The Duffer Brothers, who created the nostalgic, 80-stylised smash hit, have already warned that the crew have been jokingly calling it their “Game of Thrones season“, so we can expect a seriously heart-wrenching finish to this series.
In fairness, they have never been one to shy away from big deaths in previous seasons – Barb, Bob, Billy and so on – but what may or may not happen to Lucas or any of the other characters this year still remains pure speculation.
However, this isn’t the only Stranger Things fan theory being bandied around, as one potential and particularly wild link has also been drawn between Vecna, spiders and the show’s overarching antagonist, the Mind Flayer. Once again, spoilers ahead.
