Peter Kay returning to stage for first time in three years
The live shows will be for charity.
Peter Kay has announced on Twitter that he will be returning to the stage for the first time in three years for two special shows in Manchester.
He will be performing two charity shows will take place in August this year and will aim to raise money for 20-year-old Laura Nuttall, who is terminally ill with brain cancer and has been ticking things off her bucket list since her diagnosis.
A post on his social media said: "Peter Kay will be performing two very special live Q&A’s in aid of Laura Nuttall at Manchester O2 Apollo on 7th Aug 21. Tickets go on sale on this Friday (30th July) at 9am"

On the comedian's Facebook page he shared a link to the charity's page as well.
The 'Doing it for Laura' page explains: "Our beautiful 20 year old Laura was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme in October 2018 after a brain scan that showed 6 brain tumours. Laura was in her first term at Kings College London after getting straight A’s in her A Levels last August."

Kay has not been on stage since 2018, when he made a surprise appearance at a screening of his hugely successful sitcom Car Share.
The show was being screened in Blackpool for a charity event, and Peter delighted fans by showing up and chatting with them before airing the episode.
The post on his social media was his first activity online since October 2020.
