The actor announced the revelation to followers on their Instagram profile.

Oppenheimer and Licorice Pizza star Emma Dumont has come out as trans masculine non-binary and revealed a new name that their family has begun calling them.

Dumont played Jackie Oppenheimer in the blockbuster film, the sister-in-law of J. Robert Oppenheimer – played by Cillian Murphy.

The 30-year-old revealed the news to their followers on Instagram, changing their bio to add in ‘they/them’ pronouns instead of ‘she/her.’

A representative for the actor told TMZ: “They identify as a trans masculine non-binary person.

“Their work name is still going to be Emma Dumont, but they will go by Nick with friends and family,” the representative added.

Despite the recent social media activity, Dumont hasn’t actually addressed the their coming out themselves.

Dumont is next set to star in the horror film New Me. The plot follows a young mother as she peels back the layers of forgotten trauma in order to emotionally connect with her baby and husband, but pays a terrible price.

There is no release date for the film yet.

Dumont’s acting credits also include NBC’s 60s-era drama Aquarius, where they portrayed Emma Karn, a devoted follower of Charles Manson.

They also starred in FOX’s The Gifted, a drama series following a suburban family whose children develop mutant powers.
