Is it finally on the cards?

Noel Gallagher has sparked further rumours that an Oasis reunion could be closer than ever.

During an appearance on TalkSport earlier today, where Gallagher talked about Man City’s title hopes, Vincent Kompany and more, hosts Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour couldn’t resist trying to get some information out of him.

Brazil quizzed the 55-year-old on the recent back and forth between him and his brother, Liam, in which they hinted that an Oasis reunion could be on the cards.

“Noel, I know you joke a lot and you don’t like talking about Liam much, but was it a joke saying get his people to call your people about possibly doing something again?”

“No, he should do it. I’m still waiting for the phone to ring,” replied Noel. “No-one’s ringing.”

Brazil quizzed him further, asking “oh, so it wasn’t just tongue in cheek? They should actually do it?”

Noel then responded “Yeah, he should stop yacking on the internet.”

Ray Parlour then stepped in, saying “Well he said on Twitter you’re up there with the best songwriters in the world, that’s what he said about you, Noel.”

True to form, Noel quipped “To be fair, it’s not just him saying that.”

Parlour laughed and responded “Well I think you are as well, to be fair.”

Noel then came out with a mic-drop moment, joking “Well, you know, and you’re one of the best players who ever played.”

Noel initially responded to his brother Liam’s recent comments regarding a potential Oasis reunion two weeks ago, after Liam got fans’ hopes up once more.

In response to someone who asked if there is a “small percentage that Oasis get back together,” Liam said: “It’s happening.”

Noel addressed his younger brother’s comments, telling Liam to “call us.”

He told French radio station, France Inter: “Liam has got my number. He’s got my manager’s number. Call us.”

In regards to the tweet he said: “There’s something in the papers back in England today, you know… but he should get his people to call my people. They know who they are, they know where we are.

“Stop talking on the f***ing internet, and let’s see what you’ve got to say.”

When he was asked if it really would be that simple for a reunion to happen, he said: “You would think, right?

“You would think. He’s got my number, he’s got my manager’s number, call us.

“But you know what? He won’t call.”

When pressed on why this was the case, he added: “Well why indeed, why indeed.”

Following Noel’s initial response, Liam took to Twitter to say his brother has “a lot of making up to do” to him and Oasis fans for the “damage” he did to the “band and brand.”

Once again then, it’s probably wise to not get your hopes up too much about an Oasis reunion any time soon.
