She starred in Netflix’s How to Ruin Christmas
Busisiwe ‘Busi’ Lurayi, who starred in the Netflix series How To Ruin Christmas, has died at the age of 36 in her home in South Africa.
“We are deeply saddened to notify you of the passing of our beloved Busisiwe Lurayi,” reads a statement on behalf of her family from Lurayi’s Johannesburg-based talent agency.

The statement continues: “Busisiwe passed away suddenly and was pronounced dead at her residence on Sunday 10.07.2022 by medical personnel.
“The reason for her death is still unknown as we await the results of the autopsy report. We humbly request that I you allow us as the family to come to terms with this tragic news.
“We thankyou for the support that has been given so far and will provide further information as soon as it has been made available.”
Sharing their condolences, one fan wrote “Rest in Paradise”, while another said, “How to ruin Christmas will never be the same without you Busi.”
Besides Netflix’s How to Ruin Christmas, Lurayi has starred in a range of South African flicks and shows, including Sokhulu and Partners II and 2015’s Ses’ Top La. She also appeared in an episode of ER and nine episodes of Ashley Pharoah’s Wild at Heart.
