Millie Bobby Brown is ready to move on from Stranger Things, with the star suggesting the show is holding her back.
The 19-year-old star is preparing to move on from Netflix's hit series Stranger Things, which propelled her into stardom in 2016 as the character, Eleven.
The show, which has won a dozen Emmys since season one and also stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour and Matthew Modine alongside Brown, is set to come to an end next year. The official release date for Season 5 is yet to be confirmed, but is expected to come out early in the new year.
For Brown, goodbye may come as some relief, with the star telling Variety it was stopping her from moving onto other projects.
"Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about," the Enola Holmes star told the publication, adding: "So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you, and goodbye’.”
But Brown was quick to credit the show with giving her "the tools and the resources to be a better actor".
And rather than missing her co-stars, Brown believes she will continue to see a lot of the cast when the show ends.
Since appearing in Stranger Things, Brown has gone on to work with A-listers including Henry Cavill, Alexander Skarsgård and Helena Bonham and she is currently working with Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt.
The pair star in the upcoming film The Electric State, which is due for release next year.
"It’s a very exciting opportunity that I never thought I’d be able to have, to be able to be treated the same as him and to be looked at and respected the same as him on the set by the production, by the studio," Brown told Glamour of working with Pratt.
Brown is engaged to Bon Jovi's 21-year-old son Jake who popped the question earlier this year.
