The video has got over one million likes
A video capturing the moment Meghan Markle hugged a fan outside Windsor Castle has gone viral.
The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the castle on Saturday afternoon, greeting crowds of royal supporters alongside Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate.
Meghan noticeably put smiles on the faces of many, some of whom had been waiting hours to see if any of the royal would turn up.
But it was one encounter in particular that has really melted the hearts of fans.
A video posted on TikTok by Isabelle Charters captured the moment Meghan came over to speak to fans on her side of the gate.
Writing in the caption, she said: “Harry and Meghan both absolutely lovely! Here is the hug that everyone is talking about. It was so beautiful to witness and she is such a beautiful woman inside and out. We love you Meghan.”
The video showed Meghan speaking to a girl called Amelka, a name which the Duchess described as “beautiful”.
“Thank you so much for being here, it means so much to the family, we really appreciate it,” Meghan added.
The Duchess spoke a while longer to Amelka, before the fan requested a hug, to which Meghan replied “of course” and embraced her. The video gained over 1.3 million likes in 24 hours.

Speaking to CNN, Amelka explained that she had wanted to hug Meghan to show that she was still liked by British people.
“We were just waiting for her to come and she came near me and asked my name and how my day was, how long I was waiting.
“And I asked her if I could have a hug, and she hugged me back. It was quite an amazing moment. I’m still shaking now.”
Meghan has cancelled multiple plans, including the release of her next Archetypes podcast episode, in preparation for the Queen’s funeral.
The Duchess of Sussex was due to star on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on September 20, and had a visit to the UN General Assembly scheduled with Prince Harry on the same day.
The Queen’s death was formally announced on September 8. A funeral is to take place on September 19.
