Mark Wahlberg would not be the Mark Wahlberg we know and love if he didn't cram in a sporting reference during a show held in Pope Francis' honour.
It's what he does.
The former lead singer of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch was speaking at the Festival of Families, in Philadelphia last night, when he got in a holler in for the hometown team.
Wahlberg was introducing former Philadelphia Eagles running back Herb Lusk at the event, which had Pope Francis as guest of honour, and wrapped up with a 'Go Eagles' shout-out.
The locals in attendance and Lusk, who is now a pastor, certainly appreciated the gesture.
We're not sure what His Holiness made of it all...
Legend that he is, Wahlberg also got in a plug - and Papal forgiveness - for his movie Ted.
"[Teenage opera singer Bobby Hill] whispered in my ear that he liked the movie Ted," Wahlberg said.
"I told him that was not appropriate for his age. Holy Father, please forgive me."

Usually, when two musicians have a close friendship, it happens when they make a similar kind of music or move in the same circles. As is the case […]
