Liam Gallagher admits he has ‘unfinished business’ with Oasis as feud with Noel thaws

Paul Moore

“Everyone knows I love our kid. It’s all done in jest.”

There’s a moment in the superb Oasis documentary when all the bravado, swagger and fame simply fades away as the Gallagher brothers come together in a very emotional moment.

After a gig at ‘The Point’ in Dublin, the Gallaghers’ estranged father shows up in the bar as Noel shields a visibly upset Liam from having to face an emotional and angry encounter with his absent father.

Despite the endless Twitter arguments and combative press interviews, the two brothers will always remain close which is why a potential Oasis reunion will always be on the cards.

This being said, it appears that neither of them are in a rush to get the band together, especially since Liam’s latest track, Wall of Glass, is pretty damn good.

While Noel is busy touring with Gorillaz for a few dates in the coming months, the guitarist recently had a few reasons to celebrate this week as he turned 50.

In fact, Liam even sent his brother a nice message on Twitter while saying in a recent interview on BBC Radio 1 that all of his criticism of Noelshouldn’t be taken too seriously.

“Everyone knows I love our kid. It’s all done in jest,” he said.

In typical Liam fashion, he also jokingly said : “Well, he’s getting old now. Who am I to be slagging off pensioners.”

Regarding a further reconciliation between the pair, Liam said : “No, he don’t speak to me. We don’t speak to each other.  I will speak to him someday. It’s all very sad but we’ll get over it.”

The singer also added that he hopes that his relationship with Noel can be repaired “if anything for my mam. Cos I’ve got kids now and when they have a little barney, I’m like ‘come on’ and make up.”

Ok, Oasis fans. It’s not official confirmation of a reunion, but it’s definitely a positive step.

Speaking of a potential Oasis reunion, Liam added that “if Oasis ever got back together- and if they do, they do, or if they don’t, they don’t – but if we got back together there would be no dodgy gigs. It would be bang on.”

Here’s the interview in full.
