Keanu Reeves is all smiles as he makes rare public appearance with girlfriend

The pair were all smiles

The Matrix star Keanu Reeves was spotted smiling and holding hands with his artist girlfriend Alexandra Grant during a rare public outing together over the weekend.

The pair were captured by photographers on Saturday night when they visited the 2022 MOCA Gala which was held at the Geffen Contemporary at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.

Smiling and gazing into each other’s eyes, both Reeves, 57, and Grant, 49, looked smitten with each other as they happily posed for photographs.

The pair first went public with their romance back in 2019, after making an appearance on the red carpet of the LACMA Art and Film Gala presented by Gucci in L.A which was held in November. Despite their relationship being known to fans of the star, pictures of the duo posing for photographers publicly have remained quite a rarity.

According to People, the loved up couple have been friends for a number of years – and have even collaborated creatively on various projects. Reeves’ 2011 book Ode to Happiness and its 2016 follow up Shadows both included illustrations penned by Grant.

Whilst keeping mostly private, Grant opened up about her relationship with the Bill and Ted actor in a 2020 interview with Vogue, in which she told of the attention she had received after making her relationship with Reeves known to the world.

She even shared some thoughts on whether the two were likely to get hitched on day – although, in a rather vague and mysterious way: “Over a glass of wine … I would love to tell you,” she teased the outlet.

“Love at every level is deeply important to my identity. How’s that for dodging the question?

“I do not believe that isolation is the way. There is a period of isolation that I do as a painter, but I deeply value the experience of being in relationships.”

These sentimental thoughts on love are clearly shared by her hubby, who hit home its importance during a visit to The Drew Barrymore Show back in December. “I’m not a fighter, I’m a lover,” he told Barrymore.

“No, no, because if you’re a lover, you gotta be a fighter. … Because if you don’t fight for your love, what kind of love do you have.”

Well said, Neo.
