Kanye West 'walks out' of Piers Morgan interview as chat gets heated

Piers Morgan confronted the rapper over his anti-Semitic tweet

Kanye West stormed out in the middle of an interview with Piers Morgan, the presenter has revealed.

The 45-year-old rapper, was talking to the former Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, on TalkTV when things began to escalate between the pair.

In a number of teaser clips shared ahead of the airing of the interview on Friday, the two unsurprisingly battled with each other to make their voices heard. And, according to Piers – himself an expert in walking out – it all got too much in one instance for the hitmaker.

Morgan claims that West, legally known as Ye, walked out of the interview, with the production team then facing “quite a struggle to come and get him back.”

But return he did.

He said: “I’m glad I did because we ended up getting to where I think in his mind he wanted to get to. I think he wanted to atone for what he had done and the damage he had caused. But he was too fired up and too proud to actually go there until we got towards the end.”

Piers had confronted Ye on his anti-Semitic tweet in which he wrote: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”

It apparently took West more than two hours to apologise for the tweet, but only after he labelled Morgan a ‘Karen’ and told you “you don’t hold accountability to the pain”.

Piers fired back: “I’m not a Karen and I’m not going to cancel you and I’m not going to censor you, I’m simply going to challenge you on what you’re saying.”

His response was met by a grinning Ye who quipped: “You can’t cancel me!”

The rapper also seemed to mock how much Morgan is worth, and suggested he should be the one giving out the advice instead of Morgan.

In the end, Ye said: “I will say I’m sorry for the people I hurt with the ‘death con’, with the confusion, I feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I am sorry for the families of the people who had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through.

“And that I used my platform where you say, I hurt people, and I was hurt.”

He added that it’s “wrong to hold an apology hostage”.

West has caused huge controversy in recent weeks for his actions and words, not just relating to his anti-Semitic remarks.

Earlier this week, George Floyd’s family confirmed they were suing the rapper for claims he made in an interview that Floyd died from drug abuse rather than the actions of police officer Derek Chauvin.

In the same interview, the ‘Runaway’ singer then proceeded to compare Floyd to the late Virgil Abloh.

“This white company Louis Vuitton is now making statues of him as a martyr, and we don’t know why exactly [he died], they said it was cancer,” he said.

West’s comments come after he decided to wear a ‘White Lives Matter’ T-shirt alongside Candace Owens at Paris Fashion Week.

He also made a number of bizarre and outrageous claims in an interview with Fox News, and decided to show porn to Adidas executives in a meeting.
